Today was probably the best day so far. I almost touched Michael Cera by accident and a friend recorded him making a very serious face at us. Maybe he was unhappy about being filmed? Anyway, more Dead Space 2, Kinect and a lancer replica in the Hard Rock Hotel, an impressive haul of snarky t-shirts, and above all else more quality time with friends. Flynn's Arcade was awesome experience. After watching an extended Tron trailer in the club in back of the arcade, I'm cautiously optimistic about the movie; it could very well be a flashy but brainless turd, but I'm hoping it'll be as epic as the trailer seemed to indicate.
On Thursday and Friday I was certain I would be very glad when the end of this year's Comic-Con came, but now I'm finding myself wanting it to stick around for just a little longer. All the chaos and the fun have flown by, and the last day of the convention is almost here. Things are winding down in a sad sort of way: the professionals are all exhausted, the celebrities are being packed away and carted off, the biggest events are over and done with, and even the people in the Gaslamp shoving flyers at passersby and ranting about their insane religions seem to be running out of steam. I won't say goodbye to the con yet, not with Sunday still ahead, but I will say that I'm already looking forward to next year.
